Now that I’ve got VNC and Backups working, I’d like to make my Wifi dongle work as well, then I can move my Pi to the office.

My Pi recognizes it, but when I scan it returns no results.

I read a bunch of forums and it came up that I might not have the latest wheezy distro. I ran the following commands:

sudo su
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
This updated my distro, which is great, but I still get the same results as far as my wifi scan.
The more I read, the more I’m thinking that it needs it’s own powered usb hub. To get a good one of those you’ve got to spend at least $25, so I’m going to hold off on this section of the project.

Update 1/3/13  – I bought a powered USB hub and nothing changed, I’m having the same issue of getting no scan results, I asked a question on the raspberry pi community on G+ and someone mentioned that I should compile the drivers for my specific setup to make sure it works right, I’m going to try and do this by following the steps in this guide or maybe this one. I’ll keep you posted.
